Joining Forces for Child Protection in Emergencies (JF-CPiE) project

The (JF-CPiE) project, implemented by BITA, is supported by Plan International Bangladesh with funding from the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO). The project operates in Ratnapalong and Jaliapalong unions, Camp-17, 20, and 20 Ext. in Ukhiya, as well as Baharchora union and Teknaf municipality in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar. After completing the first phase successfully, it has already extended to 2nd phase

The project focuses on strengthening child protection at individual, family, community, and institutional levels. It equips crisis-affected children with essential knowledge, skills, and resources while improving their dietary practices and access to specialized services. Families receive support to enhance caregiving and reduce negative coping strategies linked to food insecurity.

Community-based child protection mechanisms are empowered to mitigate gender-related risks and improve access to food security and nutrition services. Institutional efforts include advocacy, program development, and capacity-building for humanitarian actors. Operating in Ukhiya and Teknaf, the project directly benefits 36,928 individuals, including 5% persons with disabilities, and indirectly reaches 184,640 people. Key activities include community awareness programs, life skills training, sports events, music and drama performances, unconditional cash support, vocational training, child-friendly spaces, and the distribution of dignity kits and referral resources.
