12 th Issue May-September 2017

We are deeply shocked observing the indescribable plights of the Rohingya people who have to take shelter in Bangladesh caused by atrocities and inhuman actions of Myanmar authority. Government of Bangladesh is facing the overwhelming humanitarian crises with prudence and appropriate actions availing support from the international community and peace-loving people. We demand early ending of all repressions and killings against the Rohingya
community as well as stern UN interventions for enduring solution of the deep-rooted problems. As usual we would like to publish the 12th Edition of BITA E-newsletter covering some of the significant accomplishments and newer interventions in development journey. Through the observance of National Mourning Day in the Urban Slum Ananda Schools, over 2500 students informed about life, works and ideals of Father of the Nation. PVT for Youth started under ROSC II project in Bandarban Hill District to build skills and creation of job placement. BITA has expanded program initiatives for peace building through youth-led awareness campaign and also started new project on Counter Trafficking. In this period, BITA successfully completed two projects on local government and DRR focusing Ageing. We depict one of the youth initiatives of stopping child marriage to draw attention on this important issue. Encouragingly BITA puppet resource team members facilitated “Training on Puppet Theatre”.
